The CNC Operator is responsible for the timely and accurate production of machined parts per the specifications and requirements of the shop traveler. The CNC Operator is also responsible for error-free processing of each order, and for completing the necessary paperwork and computer data entries associated with the CNC Production Process. The CNC Operator will be responsible for setting up and proving out new parts.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the CNC Operator. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require. Effectively and efficiently carry out production process:
+ Receive order from Production Planner
+ Allocate, pull, and load material
+ Set up machine and run job
+ Inspect products using precision measuring tools
+ Clean, deburr, label, and stage finished parts
+ Offload scrap or stock and return any materials as needed
+ Process job though the system and maintain an organized, clean work area
+ Verify quality to ensure the product meets the customer's specifications Perform setup and prove out first part runs
Ability to read blueprints and drawings to verify completed parts meet requirements
Coordinate with programming for any program changes
Report any problems or needs to the Production Supervisor
Regularly clean and maintain equipment and machinery
Troubleshoot CNC functions
Adhere to Sunshine Metals' safety rules, quality standards, and procedures
Keep the immediate work area clean and organized throughout the day
Train other team members on CNC machine operations as assigned
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Five or more years of machine setup & operating experience
Good organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
Ability to measure using different tools
Ability to use pneumatic and hand tools
Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction
Preferred Qualifications
Coursework in metalworking, blueprint reading, drafting and math
Five years' CNC machine operating and setup experience
