Employment Type: Full time Shift: 12 Hour Night Shift

Description: We are seeking a CNA for our Float Pool Full-Time Nights shift to work in Ontario, OR Saint Alphonsus Medical Center.

Utilizes an interpersonal process that focuses on the total individual. Is supportive of health, life and the quality of life through the delivery of basic patient care and maintains a safe and clean environment. Functions as a patient advocate by working with the patient to reach the ultimate goal of self-care.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be certified in the state of assignment as a Nursing Assistant.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of patient personal care and hygiene.
  • Basic knowledge of nursing procedures.
  • Solid observational skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the ability to assess data reflective of the patients\' status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient\'s requirements relative to his or her age specific needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Meets Health System\'s Guiding Behaviors and Caring Standards including interpersonal communication and professional conduct expectations.
  • Collaborates with Patient Care Manger/Lead RN to establish patient care needs and prioritizes activities to meet unit and patient goals.
  • Collects data in partnership with RN, LPN, patient and S.O. in a courteous, consistent, systematic and continuous manner. Data will focus on the patient as a whole including the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, environmental, educational, self-care and care coordination needs of the patient and the patients support system. Utilizes theories of growth and development as a part of collecting patient data.
  • Prioritizes and performs direct and/or indirect patient interventions as assigned by the Case Manager / Lead RN.
  • Safely performs technical procedures required by the patient within scope of practice and within established nursing and medical center policies.
  • Recognizes / responds to urgent or changing patient needs and initiates actions to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
  • Continually evaluates patient and family responses and communicates evaluations to the Patient Care Manager / Lead RN.
