CMM Programmer





Job Summary


In this position you will be accountable for the programmed inspection methodology in a fast-paced Manufacturing Plant. You will assist a team working collaboratively to meet customer and production quality and delivery expectations. You will focus on World Class CMM Inspection and Metrology standards, monitoring performance indicators, and ensuring adherence to Safety and Human Resources guidelines while fostering a team environment with each individual inspection member.

Key Duties

Responsible for programming, set-up, and hand-off of operation of the Coordinate Measurement Machine including all aspects of part installation and orientation.
Participate in the development of CMM inspection methodology for customer prototypes to insure successful manufacturing introductions.
Determine program requirements based on design and engineering requirements.
Review functioning of the CMM tools and programming for errors, defects, or malfunctioning.
Responsible for cross training inspection personnel on proper operation of CMM equipment
Responsible to undertake routine maintenance, repairs, and programming of the machinery
Work closely and collaborate with other members of the QC and Inspection team
Keep the organization updated about latest technologies introduced in the market and changes in the industry standards and specifications.

Excellent understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Proficient in the use of PC-DMIS Familiarity with Model Based Dimensioning (MBD) Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100

Education / Background

Five years minimum prior experience as an CMM programmer in a fast-paced machining environment High degree of knowledge of blueprint reading, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), metrology, complex inspection methods and CMM programing and operation (PC-DMIS) BS in an Engineering discipline a plus U.S. Citizenship status is required.

Reporting

The CMM programmer plays a key role within the Boyd (Woburn) organization. The CMM programmer is a member of the Quality team reporting to the Quality Manager.


Compensation 90,000-100,000 base plus bonus potential.
