Location:
This position is available to Virginia residents as Richmond, VA or Lynchburg, VA in-office applicants or remote applicants residing in states/locations under Eastern or Central Standard Time: Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington DC, Vermont, West Virginia or Wisconsin.

Your Role:
Your role as the Cloud Security Architect will be to provide leadership regarding security and governance for both infrastructure and applications in the latest generation Public Cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP). You will be responsible for creating standards and policies for secure implementations, overseeing compliance, and supporting key IT and business stakeholders. As an ideal candidate, you will rely on extensive experience with cloud security, infrastructure security, and security compliance to enhance and manage the company\xe2\x80\x99s cloud security program.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the company\xe2\x80\x99s security policies and standards are tailored for cloud environments
  • Translate security and technical policies into requirements, and communicate security risks to different audiences ranging from business leaders to engineers
  • Define, publish, maintain and execute cloud security governance processes
  • Define security measures, such as secure authentication methods, encryption, access control lists, intrusion detection systems, firewalls, to protect data stored on public clouds against unauthorized access
  • Work with architecture, engineering, and application teams to advise on secure design for cloud applications in areas such as data protection, key management, authentication, and authorization and to ensure security is built into all aspects of the cloud
  • Provide design-time review and guidance to teams building and deploying new technology on and integrating with services provided by public cloud platforms
  • \xe2\x80\x9cShift-Left\xe2\x80\x9d and work with DevOps teams to create policy as code
  • Act as a lead evangelist on security related subjects having to do with the public cloud, virtualization, container technologies, infrastructure transformation, networking, and/or data center operations
  • Participate in working groups with other subject matter experts to define and review security standards and guidelines
  • Research and stay up to date on the latest security threats and trends
  • Analyze threats to cloud technologies and design solutions to mitigate those threats
  • Develop and execute projects to enhance cloud security measures
  • Conduct cloud security planning to determine and describe security necessities
  • Provide guidance and oversight for the correction of discovered vulnerabilities
Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related degree or equivalent years of experience
  • 7+ years demonstrated cybersecurity experience
  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity risks, technical control implementation, and at least one industry standard cybersecurity frameworks (NIST 800-53, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, etc.)
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud security architecture, including public, private, and hybrid models
  • Experience with a variety of native cloud security tools and platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud
  • Experience with cloud governance tools
  • Expertise in infrastructure, system and application design and implementation using data, web, mobile, cloud, and open-source technologies
  • Knowledge of potential risks involved in workload transitions from on-premises to cloud
  • Experience evaluating, designing, implementing, optimizing, and documenting a comprehensive and extensive array of security technologies and processes, especially as related to cloud technologies
  • Capacity to work in a team environment, excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated project management experience
  • Strong ability to influence decision makers and drive consensus
Additional Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with big data security solutions
  • Leadership Experience
  • Experience with containerization technology, such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of Open Security Architecture (OSA), The Well Architected Framework, and Cloud Security Alliance (CSA)
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a thought leader in Cloud security for your existing organization
  • Experience across various enterprise solutions/ technology stacks (IaaS/PaaS/SaaS) and ability to provide guidance to diverse stakeholders and external vendors.
