The Clinician III will serve as a leader of the Habilitative Skill Building (HSB) team, dedicated to addressing the unique needs of individuals with developmental disabilities. Individuals receiving services, which are provided in the home and community, are adults with multiple diagnoses and present with significant challenging behaviors. Many HSB individuals have transitioned out of more restrictive settings, such as residential habilitation centers, state hospitals, correctional facilities, and diversion programs. They require increased clinical support in order to thrive in a community setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

Includes the following as well as other duties as assigned:

  • Maintain a caseload for implementation of treatment as specified by respective discipline (ABA, CBT, DBT, etc.)
  • Assess individuals through a Functional Behavior Assessment and develop a Positive Behavior Support Plan
  • Provide clinical guidance to Direct Support Professionals and Program Directors to include training, consultation and review of clinical services, as well as ensuring that Behavior Support Plans align with and complement other support plans developed for each individual.
  • Maintain routine communication with leaders of operations, nursing and quality assurance within the assigned region regarding behavior and/or mental health support needs.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with external service providers including DDA, Consultants, Hospitals, Day Programs, SOTP, SLP, etc.
  • Maintain positive relationship/rapport with individuals being supported, as well as parents and guardians
  • Complete home visits to interact with staff and supported individuals.
  • Assist in providing on-call support, crisis intervention and outreach as needed and appropriate
  • Review and assess data to ensure care provided is appropriately meeting the individual\'s current needs. Complete routine progress reports and update plans when needed.
  • Consult and assist with assessment and implementation of supports needed such as reinforcement systems, coping skills, adaptive equipment, etc.
  • Attend person centered planning meetings, mental health staffing meetings, and others as needed as a means to represent clinical services. Provide communication (email/phone) with people involved and complete reports as necessary/requested.
Qualifications
  • A Masters\' degree in behavior analysis, mental health, psychology, education, social work, or related discipline required.
  • Possess licensure in the Mental Health field (BCBA, LMHC, LICSW, etc.) in the state of Washington
  • Experience with adults with developmental disabilities and/or mental health issues is required.
  • Preferred: Relevant experience in designing and implementing support plans for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism and/or challenging behaviors (preferably post degree).
  • Preferred: Experience and understanding of positive behavior supports.
  • Preferred: Relevant experience providing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) or Emotion Regulation Skills System

  • Salary: $75,000 - $85,000
  • Full Time: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm
