Job Summary and Qualifications

The PRN Clinical Supervisor is responsible for working with a clinical supervisee/trainee to help them develop their professional identity and competence through the processes of supervision, coaching, and mentoring in alignment with requirements for licensure in the delivery of mental health services. A clinical supervisor meets the requirements outlined by the Board of Social Work, Board of Counseling, or other licensing entity. Internal clinical supervision exists when a new or current hospital employee enters into a formal professional relationship with the Clinical Supervisor, who is also an employee of Dominion Hospital. The Clinical Supervisor shall bring forth concerns/issues about the Supervisee\xe2\x80\x99s work, question the Supervisee about his/her work and workload, and provide constructive feedback on his/her work performance. PRN Clinical Supervisors are expected to enter into supervision agreements on behalf of Dominion Hospital and in accordance with the Clinical Supervision Policy. PRN Clinical Supervisors are expected bundle supervision hours in proximity across employees and group supervision for maximum efficiency.

Job Summary and Qualifications

• To uphold ethical guidelines and professional standards.
• To make sure supervision sessions happen as agreed and to keep a record of the meeting.
• To create a supervision file containing supervision records and other documents relating to development and training.
• To ensure that Supervisee is clear about his/her role and responsibilities.
• To record the supervision session and to store their copy in the supervision file.
• To monitor the Supervisee\xe2\x80\x99s performance.
• To set standards and assess the Supervisee against these standards.
• To deal with problems as they impact the Supervisee\xe2\x80\x99s performance.
• To support Supervisee and the agreed upon personal development plan.
• To complete all forms as requested by the Commonwealth of Virginia and/or other credentialing/licensing boards.
• Provide individual/family sessions appropriate to client needs.
• Provide group therapy appropriate to population.
• Display professionalism in dealing with stakeholders, staff and clinicians.
• Complete documentation in a timely manner.
• Follows all hospital policies and procedures.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION:

• Masters Degree from an accredited social work program or Masters Degree in a related field, which provided appropriate background and experience. Education should be clinically focused with study in human life span development and psychopathology.

CERFICATIONS:

• Crisis Prevention Institute, CPR-BLS for healthcare providers required

LICENSE:

• Candidate to actively possess LCSW or LPC

EXPERIENCE:

• At least 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience.
• Professional training in supervision as outlined by the Board of Social Work, Board of Counseling, or other licensing entity.
