Job Summary:



This position is patient-sensitive and must fulfill all associated vaccination requirements, or be approved for an exemption, prior to the first day of work. The Division of Pediatric Rheumatology at the University of Utah School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a Clinical Assistant. This position will provide operational support for clinical research activities. Process, enter, and validate project data. Prepare, handle, distribute, file, and archive clinical documentation and paperwork. May assist with ordering, tracking, and distributing study supplies. Collect research data and documents from study participants from medical records and clinical setting.

Responsibilities



Essential Functions:



Provide operational support for clinical research activities. Process, enter, and validate project data. Prepare, handle, distribute, file, and archive clinical documentation and paperwork. May assist with ordering, tracking, and distributing study supplies. May interact with study participants to gather or disseminate information.



1. Collects and compiles data from a variety of sources including patient research participants and electronic medical records



2. May enter data into a PC or computer terminal. Enters data into electronic data capture systems/databases/spreadsheets, and maintains with historical data, status reports, progress notes, and subject log to help ensure subject safety.



3. Assists senior research coordinator in identifying potential study participants and may assist in explaining and obtaining informed consent.



4. Maintain supply inventory, including ordering supplemental test articles and returning unused test articles to sponsor.



5. Assists in the preparation and maintenance of regulatory documents as required by FDA guidelines.



6. Determines visit windows from protocol, schedules subject visits and sends visit reminders. Determines length of visits and coordinates related facility and equipment availability. Ensures study visits and procedures do not conflict with existing schedules. Coordinates study visits between participants and clinic staff.



7. Attends and participates in Investigator and staff meetings. Assists team with specific study assignments and timelines.



8. Assists in reporting and tracking adverse events (AE). Reports serious AEs to IRB and sponsor.



9. Assists in proper collection processing and shipment of lab specimens according to protocol directions.



10. Completes, audits, corrects CRFs, relays CRFs to sponsor.



11. May maintain contact with IRB and prepare and submit IRB documents.

Clinical Assistant, I



Entry-level support role. Perform routine tasks as directed and under close supervision.



Requires little to no related experience.



This is an Entry-Level position in the Support track.



Expected Pay Range:

$13.95 to $16.71



Clinical Assistant, II



Mid-level support role. Completes routine tasks under moderate supervision.



Requires at least 1 year of related experience.



This is an Intermediate Level position in the Support track.



Expected Pay Range:

$18.63 to $22.32

Minimum Qualifications



EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT :
