: The Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) utilizes clinical expertise to perform psychosocial assessment and develop/ implement a plan of care/treatment plan that provides extraordinary care for the patient while being sensitive to costs and resources. This position works collaboratively with patients, patients\' family/significant other, healthcare providers, insurers, community resources, and other involved parties to identify patients\' needs, broker services, coordinate care and transition plans, and advocate for patients.

Position Details

This is an LCSW position embedded into LDS Hospital\xe2\x80\x99s complex general surgery clinic. This LCSW position will provide psychosocial assessments for patients seeking to surgery in the following areas: bariatric surgery, complex abdominal surgery, colorectal surgery, complex general surgery. This position will help to ensure successful patient outcomes through preoperative assessment and postoperative support. This position will support our surgical patients with behavioral counseling and some therapy. This position works with a team of clinicians including physicians, advanced practice providers (APPs), dieticians, nurses and educators.

Shifts for this position are Monday-Friday during regular business hours.

Minimum Qualifications

Master\'s Degree in Social Work. Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

State of Utah Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).

Two years of clinical care management or social work experience.

Basic computer skills and knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to exercise critical thinking skills.

Preferred Qualifications

An LCSW that specializes in surgical care, specifically the needs of bariatric and complex abdominal surgery

Physical Requirements:

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc).

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. $32.89 - $50.76
