Statement of Job:

The University of Southern Maine\'s Health and Counseling Services is seeking a Clinical Psychologist and Training Director to join their team.

USM\'s Counseling Services offers comprehensive psychological services to the students at the University of Southern Maine. The staff is comprised of a diverse group of professionals, including licensed psychologists, licensed clinical counselors, licensed alcohol and drug counselors, a DEIA counselor, and graduate interns. Together they embody a great deal of experience with a multitude of issues. In addition to direct services to the student population, Counseling Services acts as a resource for the entire USM community. The Clinical Psychologist and Training Director is responsible for the administration of the University Counseling Services training programs, including the psychology pre-doctoral internship, social work internship, psychology practicum and psychology post-doctoral fellowship. On average this usually involves 3-4 trainees. This provides leadership for UHCS staff and consultation to the Director of Counseling Services (Clinical Director) on policy and personnel decisions. In addition, this position is the lead administrator of Counseling Services in the absence of the Clinical Director. This individual assists the Clinical Director to develop and evaluate short- and long-term goals and service priorities for the department.

This is a full-time 11-month position (August - June with the month of July off) with an annual salary up to $75,160 commensurate with experience.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D., Psy.D, or Ed.D in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  • Five or more years of experience as a psychologist in a variety of clinical settings
  • Experience in a college counseling center is desirable but not required.
License/Certifications:
  • Licensed or license eligible as a Psychologist in the State of Maine.
