JOB PROFILE SUMMARY

Provides counsel and advice to the Formulary Strategy, New Sales team on significant clinical rebate modeling matters. Will require relationship development and coordination between cross-functional teams, including but not limited to, Pharma Contracting, New Sales and Client Proposals, and Finance and Underwriting teams. Focuses on providing strategic clinical thought leadership and analytical expertise across multiple disciplines, while considering the financial impact to the organization. Serves as a clinical resource to the sales organization, providing ongoing strategic clinical rebate industry knowledge/education that positively influence cost, quality and customer satisfaction.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Represents Supply Chain Rebates during all strategic New Sales Requests for Proposal (RFP) kick off meetings as well as follow up meetings as required.
  • Assists with planning the rebate strategy for each New Sales RFP prospect in collaboration with Sales, Pricing & Underwriting for both custom and PBM standard offerings.
  • Works closely under guidance of Clinical Director and Senior Director within the New Sales team and Pricing and Underwriting to leverage competitive intelligence to assist with creating new strategies from a rebate modeling and overall rebate perspective.
  • Provides clinical consultation through rebate contract interpretation and strategic opportunity identification.
  • Engage with all key stakeholders involved with each RFP prospect summarizing rebate financials with each proposal.
  • Mentors advisors and helps support department training needs, including content development as necessary.
  • Provides cross-functional rebate strategy support for key renewals.
  • Potential for limited client facing exposure to review and/or respond to specific rebate modeling analysis or clinical inquiries.
  • Identifies and supports modeling strategies from a clinical perspective (Competitive Product Category, Utilization Management interpretation)
  • Acts as a resource to field clinical questions from all teams engaged in the New Sales Process.
  • Develops strategy for New Sales prospects and assist with providing provisions for contracts based on information available at the time of modeling.
  • Provide financial and clinical support to Senior Director and Director in preparation for presentation to executive leadership and documents rebate modeling approach for each prospect proposal.
  • Provide support to Senior Director and Director for strategic approaches to drive optimization of rebate value which may include customization for each unique prospect.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in pharmacy, Pharm.D. preferred, with current active U.S. Pharmacist License
  • 4-8 years of pharmacy/ PBM/ Managed Care/healthcare related experience
  • 2+ years of formulary management/development experience preferred.
  • Detail Oriented Organizational, and Analytical skills
  • Excellent PC skills - including Excel, PowerPoint and MS Access, experience with database.
  • Financial acumen and/or analytical modeling experience
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical rebate contracts a plus

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 109,500 - 182,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
