Pay Range: $55.05 - $82.57
Summary: The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for carrying out day to day activity of the varying clinical pharmacy services and represents the pharmacy department in committee and project assignments. The Clinical Pharmacist ensures the rational, safe and pharmacoeconomic use of drugs within Altru Health System and participates in assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting the care of patients. The Clinical Pharmacist serves as a resource to medical staff and an advocate for the pharmacy industry.
Essential Job Functions:
Administers care to patients, maintaining clinical skills, providing instruction and maintaining continuity of patient care.
Demonstrates the ability to accurately interpret, manufacture, and dispense compounds, extemporaneous pharmaceutical products, intravenous admixtures, small volume parenteral, total parenteral nutrition and chemotherapy orders.
Instructs and supervises order entry functions performed by technical support. Maintains adequate stock supplies, usage trends and anticipates stock levels.
Participates in creation, revision, and evaluation of Quality Assurance indicators.
Performs pain assessment and takes appropriate action according to standard operating procedure.
Serves as an educator to the community/region on Pharmacy issues.
Develops and maintains clinical programs, guidelines, and protocols across disciplines to support the clinical needs and monitoring of our patients, including but not limited to antimicrobial stewardship program management.
Assists in facilitating, coordinating, and monitoring students\xe2\x80\x99 clinical experiences.
Functions as a resource to Pharmacy staff and medical staff regarding the appropriateness of drug therapy for patients.
Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
