Location: John H. Stroger Hospital

SHIFT: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Salary is commensurate with years of RN experience

PLEASE BE ADVISED that this position is covered by the collective bargaining agreement between Cook County and the National Nurses Organizing Committee. JOB SUMMARY

The Clinical Nurse I is a registered professional nurse provider who is responsible and acceptable for providing safe patient-centered nursing care for the Intermediate Care patients. The Clinical Nurse I applies knowledge of the nursing process to implement nursing practice and perform technical skills for patient care delivery. Competent nursing practice is accomplished through the application of scientific principles of nursing, problem solving skills and demonstrated teaching/learning experiences.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Illinois.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification (BLS) or able to obtain one within two (2) weeks of starting. (Must provide proof at time of interview if already obtained)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification (ACLS) or able to obtain one within two (2) weeks of starting. (Must provide proof at time of interview if already obtained)
One (1) year of Med/Surg, or higher level of nursing, Critical Care or ER nursing experience * Must be able to read and interpret Electrocardiogram (EKG) strips.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university.
  • Current one (1) to five (5) years of Intensive Care Unit or Intermediate Care Unit experience
  • Current Surgical ICU nurse experience
  • Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Certification
  • Bilingual
