This position is full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00 am - 5:00 pm local time. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer 12 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00 am to 5:00 pm CST, Monday - Friday.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review, research and assist the clinical staff with setting up documents/triage cases for Coverage Review.
  • You'll need to be efficient, productive, and thorough dealing with our member's claims.
  • Constantly meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards while maintaining good attendance.
  • Works with team to solve complex problems.
  • Prioritize and multi-task and ability to work in a Team oriented environment
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager and/or director.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 2+ years of experience in a health care setting / industry
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Experience with medical claims processing or research
  • Experience with Microsoft Word (creating document or editing existing document)
  • Microsoft Excel (creating, editing, saving spreadsheets)
  • Microsoft Outlook
  • Experience with High Dollar claim handling
  • Methodology experience
  • Ability to work full-time between 7:00 am - 5:00 pm including the flexibility to work occasional overtime given the business need
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
  • Clerical or administrative support background
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes
  • Experience with UNET, COSMOS, FACETS, NICE, ORS and / OR CPS
  • Experience with claims platforms and / OR authorizations
Telecommuting Requirements:
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.74 - $31.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
