Job Summary

The primary function of this position is to serve as an interventionist for the electronic health record Risk of Alzheimer\'s and Dementia Assessment Rule (eRADAR) research study in the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. eRADAR is a tool developed by the UCSF PI, Dr. Deborah Barnes, that uses information in the electronic health record (EHR) to help identify patients at risk of having undiagnosed dementia. The primary responsibilities of the interventionist will include: working with primary care clinicians (PCPs) to determine which patients with high eRADAR scores should be assessed for dementia; reaching out to these patients and scheduling visits; administering standard tools to assess for cognitive and functional impairment and depressive symptoms; writing clinical notes with follow-up recommendations for PCPs using a standardized note template; following up with patients who receive new dementia diagnoses after their PCP visits to connect them with appropriate healthcare system and community services; and documenting encounters in the medical system and research database.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.

For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Required Qualifications

  • Master\'s degree from an accredited school of social work, possession of a clinical social worker license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners, and three years of post-master\'s experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
  • Familiarity with standard research methodology to ensure quality data collection.
  • Excellent clinical skills; experience assessing patients for cognitive impairment/dementia, formulating client treatment plans, providing referrals and follow-up to clients. Minimum two years of experience
  • Excellent communication skills for working with patients, clinic staff, and research staff.
  • Meets requirements necessary for credentialing at the UCSF Medical Center
Preferred Qualifications
