The Day Program Coach provides direct support, supervision, and guidance to adults with developmental disabilities participating in ShineStar Day Program's community-based activities. The coach assists participants in achieving their individual goals, developing life skills, improving social interaction, and promoting independence and inclusion within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
Direct Support:
Provide one-on-one or small-group support to participants during daily activities, including community outings, volunteering, recreation, and skill-building sessions.
Ensure clients' health, safety, dignity, and respect are maintained at all times.
Skill Development:
Assist participants in learning and improving independent living, communication, social, and vocational skills.
Encourage and model positive behavior, problem-solving, and community involvement.
Program Implementation:
Follow each participant's Individual Program Plan (IPP) and daily activity schedule.
Support implementation of behavioral plans and intervention strategies under the direction of the Administrator.
Documentation and Reporting:
Record daily attendance, progress notes, and any incidents in accordance with program and Regional Center requirements.
Immediately report any unusual incidents or concerns to the Program Administrator.
Transportation and Safety:
Assist participants in and out of program vehicles and ensure safe travel to and from activities.
Comply with all safety and emergency procedures, including first aid and crisis management when necessary.
Collaboration:
Work cooperatively with team members, families, and service coordinators to ensure consistent, quality support.
Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities or in a human services setting preferred.
Valid California Driver's License and clean driving record.
Must pass Live Scan fingerprinting, TB test, and background check.
CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
