Maintain confidentiality of victims and their families
Answer crisis calls as necessary
Provide basic advocacy services for clients including:
o Crisis advocates, intakes, & safety planning
o Provide referrals to other agencies for services
o Provide accurate & sensitive information on domestic violence & sexual assault
o Follow-up contacts & services
o Transport & accompany clients to appointments, meetings, hearings, etc.
o Assist in obtaining assistance from criminal justice medical, and social agencies.
o Facilitate Spanish support groups as directed by Shelter Manager/Operation Manager
Participate as a team member with other advocates, sharing goals, assessments & observations
Work effectively with other programs of Project DOVE
Keep accurate files & records in Osmium; submit reports on time
Be familiar with and maintain positive working relationships with other community organizations
Willing to assist with presentations to community groups
Attend additional training to increase job related knowledge & skills
Work with the Shelter Advocate with client as needed
Perform other tasked as directed by Shelter Manager/and or Executive Director
Provide on-site direct services to DHS for clients who identify as victims of domestic violence. Advocate divides their times between DHS offices and Project DOVE, fostering a closer working relationship between the two systems
Qualifications:
Must possess empathy and understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault.
Ability to provide quality services to people of all racial, cultural, social and economic backgrounds
Ability to solve problems & make decisions individually and/or within a team
Ability to manage time and work independently and in a team to accomplish program goals
Have basic computer literacy skills
Ability to keep accurate records and reports
Must possess valid driver's license
Must be self-motivated and available to work flexible hours.
Must complete Project DOVE 40 hour of training in advocacy for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, or stalking
Must obtain CPR certification within 90 days of hire date
40 Hr. work week with 90 days Probational period. M-F, 1 week a month on call (additional pay)
Specialized Qualifications:
Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred
Ability to provide services in a culturally sensitive manner

Pay: $35,360.00 - $41,600.00 per year
