Northern Montana Hospital (NMH) is the center of a comprehensive system of medical and health care services, staffed with a team of caring professionals who are dedicated to meeting the growing needs of our Hi-Line communities. The not-for-profit, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital features a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency department, with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and electronic medical record services. Our large, quiet labor/birthing rooms are private and located away from other patient care areas. The private patient rooms on the 5th floor Medical/Surgical Department boast views from every window.

About the role

The Clerk - Financial Clearance Representative will verify insurance and obtain pre-authorizations that are needed on accounts. Help patients with Presumptive Eligibility. Cross train with other Clerk Financial Clearance Rep to handle duties during times of absence. Scheduling all imaging accounts and any miscellaneous duties as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma, GED or equivalent Keyboarding minimum of 50 WPM. Knowledge of 10 key. Ability to comprehend, retain and apply given information. Experience in office procedures helpful but not necessary. Professional demeanor and excellent public relation skills. Must have excellent customer service and communication skills with the ability to effectively calm patients and be able to deal with distressed and/or agitated patients. Medical terminology and health insurance background preferred.
