DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As Clerical Assistant 2, you receive, date, log, and review family child care home (FCCH) applications, health appraisals, occupancy permits, tax verification information, child abuse and criminal history clearances for errors and completeness. All completed applications are cross-referenced with the negative sanction files to determine if there is a negative sanction against a prospective provider. In addition, you identify problems with FCCH applications and refer them to the Early Learning Program Certification Supervisor, or the Early Learning Program Regional Manager.

You also review and process new and renewal applications for completeness and create, organize, and maintain the FCCH files You prepare information on new providers and closure of non-renewals. You also obtain identifying information from prospective family child care operators and prepare and mail informational packets about family child care to prospective operators.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week.
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. To telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will report to the Central Regional office in Selinsgrove. It is possible during the training period, more frequent days in the office will be required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training .
Necessary Special Requirements:
  • This position requires keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.
  • This position requires the ability to take and transcribe dictation.
Other Requirements:
