Summary

This is a role focused on technical claim handling for Chubb\xe2\x80\x99s Personal Lines insureds for the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast territories. In this role you will manage moderately complex general liability and auto liability claims, both litigated and non-litigated, under primary and excess Personal Lines policies. This role requires an individual to be accountable for the handling and disposition of claims including investigation, coverage determination, reserving, negotiation and settlement or trial strategies. This position will require some travel, as well as coordinating with and servicing both internal and external business partners. You will represent the company at meetings with management and business partners, as well as at mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences and trials.

Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Manage an inventory of Personal Lines Casualty claims involving moderate exposures and coverage issues.

\xc2\xb7 Conduct, coordinate, and direct investigation into loss facts, damages and risk transfer opportunities.

\xc2\xb7 Evaluate coverage, liability, and damages to determine the exposure to the insured and the policy.

\xc2\xb7 Analyze coverage and communicate coverage positions, as warranted, within assigned authority.

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrate and implement effective defense, resolution and claim strategies.

\xc2\xb7 Direct and closely monitor assignments to experts and defense counsel subject to established guidelines.

\xc2\xb7 Provide superior customer service to insureds, agents, and internal business partners.

\xc2\xb7 Adhere to Best Practices Guidelines.

\xc2\xb7 Adhere to individual authority grants, all statutory and regulatory requirements, fair claim practices and local compliance requirements, including examiner licensing.

\xc2\xb7 Travels to conferences, mediations, and trials as necessary. Travel ranges from approximately 10% to 25% but it could be more as dictated by business needs.

Qualifications

\xc2\xb7 Five or more years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a casualty claim professional with specialized and technical competence in the handling of moderate exposure claims with emphasis on hands-on file and litigation management.

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated experience managing Florida claims preferred.

\xc2\xb7 Experience with bodily injury, property damage, and personal injury claims.

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated ability in dealing with moderate coverage matters.

\xc2\xb7 An understanding of the tenets of insurance and legal principles.

\xc2\xb7 Working knowledge of industry best practices and procedures.

\xc2\xb7 An ability to work independently and assimilate learning materials on many different subjects from various sources.

\xc2\xb7 Excellent interpersonal communications and negotiation skills; and an ability to deal with customers and business partners in a professional manner.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to make prompt, intelligent decisions based upon detailed analyses of complex issues.

\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated strong relational skills particularly in adverse or high-pressure situations.

\xc2\xb7 Personal Lines experience preferred but not required.

\xc2\xb7 An applicable resident or designated home state adjuster\xe2\x80\x99s license is required for all Chubb NA Claims Examiners. Chubb will provide up to 40 hours of paid, independent self-study time and materials and up to 3 attempts, or 3 months (whichever is sooner), of passing the exam.
