JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Claims Reimbursement Auditor is required to understand and apply knowledge of third-party payer reimbursement including all commercial, and a general understanding of Medicare & Medicaid. Also required to understand the UVMHN payer contractual agreements including facility and professional reimbursement for inpatient, outpatient, and professional services, as well as the UVMHN billing regulations. The incumbent is responsible for both detailed and high-level problem solving and data analysis, extraction, and reporting from various internal and external systems. This position includes the responsibility and accountability for auditing functions in Epic, including system reconciliations, extractions, identifying payer issues and trends and the follow through of variances for the recovery of underpayments.
EDUCATION:
Associate's Degree in relevant field or relevant work experience required.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one year experience in Hospital billing and/or follow-up is preferred.
