Provides technical support of desktop computers, TXWARN P25 Radio System, Public Safety Situation Awareness applications, Avaya/Cisco telephone systems, mobile-data systems, Cisco network, various software applications and including CJIS compliance and technology requirements. Support includes installation and testing of various types of computer systems and peripherals to meet existing standards and guidelines. Participates and/or assists in the planning of projects, programs, policies or objectives for own work group or as required/directed by Supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies, analyzes, and initiates various technics to resolve reported issues as a first level support for all devices or applications provided by the Sheriff\xe2\x80\x99s Office.
  • Assists in the setup and maintenance of Situational Awareness applications for use with Emergency Communications to Law Enforcement/Fire & EMS users.
  • Performs equipment and software changes to Cisco telephone network.
  • Maintains and /or assist with system security of all computer and radio networks.
  • Assists in the support and maintenance of Domain Access and DUO multi-factor security authentication.
  • Assists users in the operation of APEX radios (including programming/reprogramming of APEX radios) and various computer equipment.
  • Serves as liaison between departments and other public agencies including County IT (assisting with standards and procedures directly related to information technology).
  • Responsible for the maintaining of computer re-imagining and image maintenance including SCCM distribution.
  • Provides administrative assistance to management staff.
  • Maintains inventory records of issued radio and computer equipment.
  • Responsible for or assists in the maintenance of the Tiburon CAD File Maintenance System and Tiburon RMS Code Table Maintenance Systems.
  • On call and answers emergency calls for service related to technical issues.
  • Requisitions supplies and recommends equipment expenditures.
  • Assists with the Server Ops of this Agency including Virtual Environment (VMWARE) and Isilon Network Storage.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED; One-year technical school or specialized training in electronics and telecommunications.
  • Two years of job related experience.
Knowledge of Cisco Networking, Microsoft Office and OS applications, Network Printing, SCCM, Microsoft Active Domain, Virtual Server Maintenance (VMWARE), Desktop Support. * Must stay informed of technological advances and trends in the computer industry.
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize own and others\' work and ability tocomplete assigned tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials.
  • Valid Texas Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License.
SALARY RANGE: $26.68 per hour
