Summary




Provides Spanish instruction of materials to prepare students for the U.S. Naturalization Exam to those seeking U.S. Citizenship by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum Development



Develops course syllabi, lesson plans, and instructional activities to ensure effective implementation of U.S. Civic knowledge and U.S. Naturalization Exam curriculum. Establishes and communicates clear learning objectives for all instructional activities. Implements course(s) using effective and engaging instructional techniques that promote student success. Assesses student progress using specific, measurable learning objectives and timeframes. Uses instructional experience to support program effectiveness and continuous improvement.

Class Preparation & Administration



Prepares and organizes class materials, workshops, or seminars; manages related paperwork and ordering of supplies. Develops and maintains updated class rosters; tracks attendance, grades, and pre/post data as required. Maintains accurate records of payments, donations, and other class-related documentation. Responds promptly and professionally to student and client inquiries via email, phone, or in person.

Program Support & Data Management



Supports data collection, input, and transcription for program evaluations, forms, and surveys. Assists in program planning, student enrollment, and summer program development activities. Helps coordinate ceremonies, events, and activities celebrating student successes. Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Team & Community Engagement



Attends required team meetings and actively participates in team development opportunities. Helps build positive relationships within the team and among program participants. Represents LCM Adult Education and its programming within the community, at outreach events, and with stakeholders.

Education and/or Experience

Required:



Bachelor's degree in Education, Adult Learning, or related field or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience teaching adults, preferably in civics. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with culturally diverse learners. Proficient with digital tools and basic classroom technology. Bilingual (Spanish/English) proficiency.

Preferred:



Experience with hybrid or online instruction Knowledge of workforce development or career readiness programming

Role Details

Hours:

Part-time, generally 6-20 hours per week depending on course load. With an Adult Education class schedule of Monday through Thursday mornings and evenings and Saturday morning. This class schedule is based on availability of instructor and adult student learners.
