Job Description

The Topsham Public Library (TPL) seeks applicants with good multi-tasking skills for the full-time position of Circulation Supervisor.

The Circulation Supervisor works in coordination with other library staff to manage lending and public service functions at the library service desk. These include checking materials in and out, processing interlibrary loans, creating library cards, answering phones, registering program sign-ups, providing reader's advisory, and answering basic reference questions.

This role provides friendly, responsive customer service at the library's primary service point; supervises part-time lending staff; trains and supports all other staff in routine lending tasks; serves as a point of contact with other libraries; and manages our home delivery program. Other tasks include billing, shelving, basic financial transactions, and minor materials repairs.

Applicants should enjoy working directly with patrons of a wide variety of ages and backgrounds. They should have strong written and oral communication skills, high attention to detail, supervisory experience, ability to work in close quarters in a shared office environment, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

This position requires a Bachelor's degree and at least two years of relevant experience in a library setting. Preference will be given to candidates with a working knowledge of Sierra ILS and the Minerva Library Consortium.

$28.20

per hour.
