The Children's Services Manager oversees and supports a team of staff who provide high-quality services to children with disabilities and their families within Opportunity Development Centers' Children's Programs. This position ensures that services align with ODC's mission, adhere to regulatory requirements, and promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where children can thrive. The Children's Services Manager is responsible for program oversight, staff supervision, case management, regulatory compliance, and ongoing service development.
Essential Responsibilities
Program Leadership & Oversight
Provide daily leadership, coordination, and oversight of all children's services within Wood County.
Ensure service delivery meets state and federal guidelines, organizational policies, and best-practice standards for supporting children with disabilities.
Monitor program performance, staffing levels, and caseload distribution to maintain efficiency and quality.
Implement and uphold safety practices, behavior support strategies, and individualized service approaches.
Lead program enhancements, growth initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
Staff Supervision & Development
Directly supervise a team of Children's Services staff, including onboarding, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
Foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative team culture.
Ensure staff documentation, reporting, and service delivery expectations are understood and consistently met.
Compliance & Documentation
Ensure program and staff compliance with Medicaid, licensing, county, school district, and organizational standards.
Review and approve staff documentation, incident reports, and service notes for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain organized, confidential, and compliant records according to ODC policy and regulatory requirements.
Administrative & Operational Responsibilities
Assist in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for the Children's Services program.
Track and report program data, outcomes, and trends to leadership.
Participate in strategic planning, grant requirements, and program evaluations.
Represent the Children's Services program in internal and external meetings.
Qualifications
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Education, Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
Experience working with children with disabilities.
Supervisory or leadership experience within a human services or educational setting.
Strong knowledge of disability services, behavior support, person-centered practices, and inclusive programming.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with families, staff, and community partners.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Work Environment
Combination of office, program, and community-based environments.
Frequent communication with staff, families, and community partners.
Occasional travel between ODC sites or community locations.
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
* Ability to participate in activities with children, including movement, play, and assisting with mobility or adaptive needs.
