Compensation: $ 58,471.88 Annually. Salary may be dependent upon the candidate's qualifications and experience.

This position supervises Prevention and Protection Services staff in Child Protective Services Unit within the KC Region. This position will manage resources located within Johnson County to maximize the agency's ability to successfully achieve its mission. This position is responsible for ensuring that agency mandates are achieved and that actions are taken to protect children and to prevent the need to remove them from their home.


As a Child Protection Supervisor, you will:


Provide protective and preventive services. Prevention is defined as prevention for out of home placement for children. The Protection Supervisor supervise staff who investigate allegations of abuse and neglect, perform risk and safety assessments, develop safety plans, provide information about and referrals to community resources for at risk families, and make appropriate referrals to contracted family preservation and foster care providers.


Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: This position works in a cooperative fashion with customers, staff, and agency partners to provide efficient and effective service. At DCF, the customer is placed at the center of planning, policy development, program implementation, and practice with customer outcomes driving decision-making at all levels. By integrating services, we create and maintain a prevention focus as a way of doing business by interacting and engaging with others to proactively foster well-being.

Qualifications

Education: If a degree is required, a transcript showing proof of graduation or degree obtained is required to be uploaded with your application. Transcript copies are required with application if a degree is listed as a minimum qualification bachelor's degree in social work, human services, health sciences or related field as determined relevant by the agency and one (1) year of field experience with a child welfare agency, childcare institution or agency performing human services or health sciences functions.

Minimum Qualifications:

If a driver's license is required, a copy must be uploaded with your application. Valid Driver's License (must maintain valid driver's license throughout employment).

Preferred Qualifications:

Licensed Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board (BSRB) professional as determined relevant by the agency. One or more of the following: Licensed Social Worker, master's in professional counseling (Licensed Professional Counselor) Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist)

Security Clearance:

A background check (KBI - criminal background, welfare fraud, driver's license and Child/Adult Abuse and Neglect Central Registry) is required for all positions with the Department for Children and Families (DCF) as a condition of employment, which may include fingerprinting and FBI check. Security clearance must be obtained prior to employment with DCF. Must maintain security clearance throughout employment.

Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate:

A valid Kansas Tax Clearance Certificate is a condition of employment for all employees of the State of Kansas. Applicants (including non-residents) who receive a formal job offer for a State job, are required to obtain a valid Tax Clearance within ten (10) days of the job offer. A Tax Clearance can be obtained through the Kansas Department of Revenue who reviews individual accounts for compliance with Kansas Tax Law.
