Job Description

We are looking for a qualified Child Care Teacher to help with our school age children and give other teachers breaks while the children are in school. A childcare teacher must have a great love and patience for children. Qualifications needed would be to obtain your CPR and first aid certificate if not already in your possession, obtain your food handler's permit if not already in your possession, obtain a background check through childcare licensing, and love for children in the early childhood industry. You must be able to drive a van for transporting children to school and field trips in the summer.

Responsibilities

Develop a careful and creative program suitable for children Reliable and on time Maintain required training hours and get CDA Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum. Supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times Track children's progress and report to parents Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children's background and psyche Collaborate with other educators Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Skills

Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms Excellent communication and instructional skills Ability to act as mediator between children Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable Balance between a creative mind and a practical acumen Certification in child CPR Driver's license with a good driving record

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
