Description (objectives of the position):

The CTO, SVP of Engineering will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for building an engineering organization to scale the business opportunity and to continually innovate the technology. This position will create and manage a direct staff that will primarily comprised of scientific, engineering and technical personnel, making it essential for the CTO, SVP of Engineering to have a similar advanced educational background, to include up to a PhD or similar accreditation.

  • Preside over and manage on a day-to-day basis the technical, scientific, R&D and engineering operations of the company.
  • Prepare technical, scientific R&D and engineering budgets, create technology development plans, and solve internal technical and scientific issues as they arise.
  • Communicate reports and share technical, scientific R&D and engineering information, strategy, and status with the board of directors to ensure they are kept fully informed on the condition of the company and important factors influencing it.
  • Lead the development of the Company\xe2\x80\x99s next generation, high efficiency linear accelerator technologies to continue to allow the Company to have the industry\xe2\x80\x99s best food and medical treatment systems.
  • Lead and develop the Company to build upon its proprietary and patented technologies portfolio.
  • Develop standards and procedures to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
  • Oversee Failure Modes Effect (FMEA) and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) activities.
  • Coordinate design reviews with cross-functional teams, leading efforts related to the overall facility and system functional design, including reliability and safety.
  • Define and own aggressive KPIs for quality, performance, delivery, and cost for all projects.
  • Set goals, monitor work and evaluate results to ensure that technical, scientific, R&D and engineering departmental and organizational objectives and operating requirements are met and are in line with the needs and mission of the company.
  • Attract, retain, and motivate technical, scientific, R&D and engineering staff.
  • Ensure highly productive technical, scientific R&D and engineering relationships and partnerships are identified, initiated, and maintained for the benefit of the company.
  • Collaborate with the Reveam Leadership and Executive Team to drive strategic technology development.
  • Understand and collaborate on complete facility lifecycle from concept to decommissioning.
  • Develop and implement business plans that align with company goals and overall strategic vision, while reducing operational costs.
  • Develop and regularly monitor performance metrics, financial forecasts, and other metrics to evaluate engineering operations and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead and develop protocols and write reports documenting facility reliability and safety verification, validation and certification as required.
Qualifications (specific requirements needed to be qualified for the position)
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required; Advanced Degree in Engineering or Acceleratory Physics preferred; M.B.A. preferred.
  • Fifteen to twenty (15-20) plus years relevant experience in engineering, designing and analyzing high performance industrial facilities containing complex, software-controlled, electro-mechanical devices.
  • Ten (10) plus years of engineering radiation generating devices or facilities preferred.
  • Experience in deploying and managing ISO-compliant processes and organizations.
  • Experience creating engineering development processes and procedures preferred.
  • Experience in vendor, university and government grant partnerships preferred.
  • Experience in a start-up environment preferred.
  • Ten (10) plus years experience managing and supervising facility engineering teams preferred.
  • Ability to lead and direct teams with complex technical development projects, build relationships, lead cross- functional teams, and build consensus among development team members.
  • Experience working with cross-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated ability of product planning with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and safety.
  • Knowledge of human resource principles and practices, especially successful demonstration of employee development, conflict resolution, team building, engagement, and retention.
  • The ability and willingness to collaborate with other disciplines and business groups to support the company at large.
  • Travel up to 30% of the time when in new facility design phase of project to support operational activities at existing facilities or as needed to support the operations.

  • Expertise in common reliability analysis and management techniques
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Experience using various applicable systems such as ANSYS, SolidWorks, REVIT, Autodesk AutoCAD 2D/3D.
  • Experience with ERP software. NetSuite preferred.

The majority of time performing this job is split between a standard office environment and outside in the Facility. Frequently sits, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stand and walk; grasp with hands and fingers and lift up to 15 lbs. Occasionally bend, twist, push, pull, climb, squat, crawl and kneel. Frequently use computer, telephone, writing instruments. A large part of time is spent in a refrigerated area standing and walking. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the operation facility is high. The noise level in the office environment is usually quiet to moderate.
