Summary:


Glenmore University is seeking a part-time

Chief Academic Officer (CAO)

with a strong foundation in higher education administration and the potential to transition into a full-time role. The CAO will be instrumental in shaping our academic programs, establishing high educational standards, and fostering an environment of excellence. This role is critical for steering the university through the accreditation process, enhancing faculty and curriculum development, and ensuring compliance with educational regulations.

Key Responsibilities:



Curriculum Development and Review:



Lead the development and revision of academic programs, aligning them with the university's mission and evolving trends in higher education. Regularly assess curricula and syllabi, engaging feedback from students, alumni, and industry experts to ensure academic rigor and relevance. Collaborate with faculty and department chairs to set clear learning objectives, leverage modern pedagogical methods, and integrate the latest educational technology. Chair curriculum committees, fostering collaboration in curriculum design and innovation across interdisciplinary programs. Implement a system for routine evaluation of instructional materials and assessments to maintain quality, inclusivity, and up-to-date content.

Accreditation and Quality Assurance:



Direct the accreditation process, including the creation of a comprehensive self-study report that highlights institutional strengths and areas for growth. Develop timelines and accountability measures for all accreditation-related activities, coordinating with relevant departments to ensure timely task completion. Maintain active communication with accrediting bodies, ensuring the university stays informed of standards and requirements for accreditation compliance. Oversee data collection on program quality and learning outcomes, using data analytics to drive continuous improvements and strategic planning. Promote an institutional culture that values accreditation, encouraging campus-wide engagement in maintaining accreditation standards.

Faculty Evaluation and Development:



Implement a faculty evaluation system that covers teaching effectiveness, scholarship, service, and professional growth to inform tenure and promotion decisions. Create professional development programs focusing on teaching, research, and technology integration to enhance instruction and student engagement. Support faculty in pursuing research, grants, and other scholarly activities that enhance the university's academic reputation. Develop opportunities for faculty collaboration and knowledge exchange, promoting best practices and innovation in teaching.

Faculty Recruitment and Selection:



Oversee the faculty recruitment process, emphasizing diversity, equity, and inclusion while attracting top talent aligned with the university's academic vision. Collaborate with academic search committees to ensure an effective and consistent hiring process. Design onboarding and mentorship programs for new faculty members, facilitating their integration into the university and supporting their professional growth.

Regulatory Compliance and Representation:



Act as the primary academic representative for compliance matters, engaging with the Commission for Independent Education (CIE) and other regulatory bodies. Lead preparations for accreditation site visits, coordinating efforts across departments to demonstrate the institution's achievements and standards. Monitor higher education regulations at federal, state, and local levels, advising on necessary policy adjustments. Maintain a compliance calendar tracking reporting and renewal deadlines, ensuring the university adheres to all regulatory obligations.

Strategic Leadership:



Develop a forward-looking academic vision that aligns with institutional goals and the changing landscape of higher education. Engage in strategic planning with the executive team, integrating academic goals into the university's broader objectives. Champion innovative academic policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency, academic quality, and the student experience. Represent the university at conferences and professional networks, strengthening the institution's visibility and reputation.

Administrative Management:



Oversee academic budgeting in partnership with finance, ensuring resource allocation supports academic priorities. Manage academic administration staff, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on supporting faculty and students. Coordinate with admissions, student affairs, and IT to ensure integrated service to students and alignment with the university mission. Establish transparent policies and processes that facilitate efficient academic operations.

Qualifications:



Doctorate of Education, or Business Administration is required , with substantial experience in higher education.

A minimum of 10 years in academic leadership

including experience managing academic operations at the department, college, or university level. Demonstrated success in strategic planning, organizational management, and change management. Proven ability to influence and collaborate across departments, fostering a culture of shared governance. Experience in curriculum development, accreditation, and compliance within the higher education sector. Strong financial acumen, with skills in budget planning, financial forecasting, and resource management. Excellent written and oral communication skills, including policy document creation and strategic presentations. Expertise in problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict resolution. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and an ability to manage multiple deadlines. Capacity to cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $45.00 - $70.00 per hour
