Reporting to the Assisted Living Nurse Manager, the Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) provides compassionate, hands-on care that supports residents with personal hygiene, activities of daily living, mobility, and overall comfort. Our CHHAs play a vital role in helping residents maintain dignity, safety, and independence in a warm, supportive environment.
What You'll Do
Provide personal care in alignment with nursing policies, including bathing, grooming, dressing, oral care, and other hygiene needs.
Assist residents with mobility: ambulation, transfers, toileting, and safe movement throughout their day.
Support residents with elimination needs in a respectful, professional manner.
Maintain a clean, organized living environment--make beds, tidy rooms, and encourage resident participation in self-care.
Take and record vital signs accurately and promptly.
Assist with body positioning, alignment, and range-of-motion exercises.
Provide mealtime support, including light meal prep, opening containers, cutting food, and offering post-meal personal care.
Practice proper infection control and aseptic techniques at all times.
Observe, document, and immediately report changes in residents' physical or emotional status.
Recognize emergencies and follow established protocols.
Prepare residents for medical appointments, therapies, activities, and internal facility visits.
Offer companionship and supportive services such as reading to residents, writing letters, operating TV/radio, assisting with activities, and providing light housekeeping.
Engage in activities and programs for cognitively impaired residents as directed.
Perform other duties as assigned to support exceptional resident care.
What We're Looking For
High School diploma or GED
Active New Jersey CHHA certification in good standing (NJ Department of Consumer Affairs)
Experience working with seniors in an Assisted Living or similar setting preferred
Compassion, reliability, and a passion for helping others
