Job Responsibilities:Maintain and repair laboratory instruments and equipment, including advanced systems such as NMR, FTIR, and UV-VIS. Manage chemical inventory, ordering, and safe storage and disposal of materials. Coordinate with Facilities & Services, IT, and laboratory staff to ensure reliable building and equipment operations. Serve as department safety officer and building safety coordinator, providing safety training, conducting audits, and leading emergency preparedness efforts. Supervise one full-time employee and support faculty and students in maintaining a safe, well-functioning lab environment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of:Chemistry and Physics or closely related areas Laboratory equipment, tools, maintenance and repair procedures Safety principles, practices and procedures.

Skill & Ability to:Ability to prioritize and schedule work to meet shifting deadlines. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely regarding the multiple aspects of the position to various populations, including faculty, staff, students, etc. Maintain awareness of applicable University, state, and federal codes surrounding chemical safety and waste disposal.
