About the Role:

RAN Biotech is an innovative and growing company developing solutions to address needs in cutting-edge technologies, such as Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS), drug discovery, single cell encapsulation and manipulation and point-of-use microbe detection. We are seeking a Chemist to join our team and contribute to the synthesis, formulation, and testing of advanced specialty materials for life science applications, in addition to providing customer support.

Duties:

Synthesize, purify, analyze, and test (QA/QC) materials following established protocols Maintain accurate, detailed laboratory records and regularly report results in internal meetings Create and maintain SOPs to ensure consistency, safety, and compliance in lab activities Contribute to product development and provide technical support to customers as needed Uphold best practices for lab safety and professional conduct

Required skills:

BS/BA in Chemistry or Material Science, entry-level Experience with FTIR and NMR spectroscopy Experience in handling air- and moisture-sensitive chemicals is preferred (Schlenk line techniques) Experience with chromatography is preferred Experience in Microsoft Office and chemistry drawing software(s) Excellent communication and writing skills Work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment Self-motivated with a willingness to learn about and understand new technologies, techniques and procedures Excellent organization skills, flexibility, efficiency and ability to multi-task
