is looking for a

Chemical Treatment Worker II

to properly mix, spray, and apply insecticides, fungicides, herbicides and fertilizers on the golf course.



As a

Chemical Treatment Worker II

, your duties and responsibilities will include:Measuring, mixing, and applying agronomic chemicals and fertilizers in accordance with labeled instructions. Calibrating spray equipment and applying chemicals via motorized/riding spray unit, backpack sprayer, or hand spray unit. Operating a light or medium truck to transport pallets of pesticides and fertilizers, farm tractor and/or turf trickster with fertilizer spreader, chemical sprayer, and aerator attachments. Surveying and identifying the area to be treated, determines the applicable chemical/fertilizer to be applied and the appropriate amount/mixture to be applied. Performing routine safety inspection on all spraying equipment. Maintaining chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with county, state and federal regulations. Performing other duties and responsibilities of the position.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

At time of application you must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to show competence in the care, maintenance and beautification of landscaped and natural areas, including the spraying and application of a variety of agricultural chemicals.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Valid Hawaii State driver's license (Type 3), prior to appointment, and Category 3: Ornamental and Turf Pesticide Applicator's License, prior to completion of probation.

NOTE: The above mentioned licenses and certificates must be obtained by the time indicated and maintained on a current basis thereafter as a condition of employment.
