Chef Must Be Creative!

Savannah, GA, US, United States

Job Description

We need a creative and dynamic individual to participate in the continuing development of the Wright Square Bistro. This can be a full time or part time position, but for part time, Friday through Sunday full shifts are a requirement. Preparing to celebrate our fifth anniversary, we are continuing to redefine our culinary story. We expanded our dinner service on Friday and Saturday evenings with simple but creative bistro inspired dishes with a Southern home flair. The chef will operate with a high degree of autonomy and will develop menus and dishes that support our ideal - home cooked, simple fare with a creative twist of the highest quality using seasonal, local ingredients that will make our customers come back again and again. We need someone who is not afraid to innovate while at the same time can produce consistent high quality product for our guests. Want to make a name for yourself in the business? This is the place. There will be a great deal of independence associated with this position. We are also looking for a part time line/prep cook so you could possibly bring another member of your team.

We have a small but very well equipped kitchen and a front production station that will be at your disposal. We expect everyone at the Bistro to be a team player, to bring creativity to the table and work with the owners to bring the Wright Square Bistro to the next level. The Wright Square Bistro is family-owned, family run and prides itself on inclusivity. No one at the bistro is above doing dishes, bussing tables, peeling eggs or making a tuna melt. Above all else, we can offer you a work life balance you will not have any where else.

This is an opportunity for someone to make a mark on a kitchen, to use his or her creativity and to make people smile when they take the first bite. We are not looking for someone who has decades of classical training - instead we want someone who is not afraid to take chances. If you are currently not in the industry please do not apply. If you are not remotely qualified, please do not apply. If you are just looking to squeeze mashed potatoes out of a bag, please do not apply. If you are burned out and have no creativity, please do not apply. If you are just looking to use us as leverage against your current employer, please do not apply. If you are the kind of person who forgets to come to work, absolutely do not apply. If you do, we will reject your application. But if this job seems right for you, please DO apply. Be ready to not just tell us why you are the right person, you will also need to show us. We look forward to us finding each other.
