Overview

As a Charge Nurse at CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson, you\'ll oversee department frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, pediatrics, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team. This person will act as lead in our Medical, Surgical and Pediatric deparment.

Responsibilities

What you\'ll do

Ability to serve as leader and teammate * Supervises the CNAs, PCTs, LPNs, and RNs who are on duty during their scheduled shift; provides guidance, instruction, and correction as requested or required

• Oversees departmental workflow including patient assignments; makes decisions and adjustments that support efficiency, productivity, and staff and patient safety

Ensure your direct reports and department are positioned to deliver the best care possible to our patients * Serves as department leadership in the absence of the director

High level of engagement with the floor- visibly connecting with nurses, patients, and families

Attend meetings with leadership to learn about new initiatives, areas for improvement, etc. and share that information with your team

Monitor productivity and efficiency of your department

Mentor people on your team. Share your knowledge and confidence with assistant nurse managers, charge nurses, and others

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license that qualifies to work as an RN in North Dakota (either an ND RN license or a compact RN license issued in another state).
• Compaq license holders must obtain North Dakota (ND) Registered Nurse (RN) license within 90 days of primary residence change to North Dakota.
• One (1) year of experience at CHI St. Alexius Health Dickinson or two (2) years of Medical-Surgical or Acute Care experience outside the facility.
• Pediatric Orientation completed.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• ACLS to be obtained within one (1) year.

Preferred:

• Prior Charge Nurse or leadership experience.

Pay Range
$33.6 - $48.73 /hour
