About The Hospital:
We seek a
Certified Sterile Processing Technician
to support
evening shift operations
in Worcester, Massachusetts.
This is an excellent opportunity to work in a high-acuity surgical environment supporting evening and overnight surgical cases, add-on procedures, and next-day readiness. The role is ideal for technicians who are detail-oriented, self-directed, and comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with OR and perioperative teams.
Competitive compensation is offered, with

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Clinical / Technical Responsibilities:
Perform all task-based sterile processing functions, including
decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution
of surgical instruments and medical devices
Assemble and deliver
accurate and complete surgical and interventional procedure case carts
for scheduled, add-on, and emergent evening cases
Operate and document workflows using
sterile processing tracking software and hospital systems
Perform
paring, restocking, and replenishment
of surgical instrumentation and sterile supplies
Collaborate closely with
OR staff, anesthesia, nursing, and surgical teams
to ensure instrumentation readiness and accuracy
Respond efficiently to
urgent requests and late-running procedures
, which are common during evening hours
Ensure compliance with
AAMI, AORN, OSHA, infection prevention standards
, and hospital policies
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives
Additional duties and responsibilities as required by the department/division
Non-Clinical Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrates professional, collaborative, and consultative relationships with surgical and perioperative teams
Maintains clear, timely, and professional communication with all members of the healthcare team
Adheres to all safety policies, procedures, and precautions; identifies and reports unsafe conditions
Demonstrates understanding of required procedures, policies, and documentation to ensure compliance with hospital standards of care
Actively participates in continuing education and competency maintenance

Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Certification:
- Certified through
IAHCSMM/HSPA
or
CBSPD
(required)
Experience:
- Minimum
1 year of sterile processing experience
preferred
Ability to work independently and efficiently during evening hours while maintaining high accuracy and accountability

Ability to work effectively in a
fast-paced, high-volume surgical environment
Ability to prioritize tasks and respond to urgent requests during evening shifts

Weekly Schedule
Shift:
Evening
Coverage includes afternoons, evenings, and early overnight hours
Service is staffed
7 days per week
; some weekends and holidays may be required
