Certified Pharmacy Technician

Evergreen Family Medicine serves outpatient needs, including Urgent Care, Family Practice, Women's Health, Occupational Health, and school-based telehealth.

Responsibilities and Duties:




Administer vaccinations Verifies prescriptions and refills with physician. Select substitutions when necessary. Accurately and effectively orders, receives, and maintains inventory of drugs and chemicals, and ensures their security in accordance with department policy and procedure. Helps maintain an orderly, clean environment including cleanliness of medication stock and supplies. Accurately and effectively enters data into the computer system, records prescriptions, purchases orders, stock orders, requisitions, and disbursements. Removes unneeded, or outdated drugs from stock and prepares for return or disposal. Performs general clerical duties for the department. Follows all Evergreen Family Medicine and department policies, procedures, and practices. Handle inbound and outbound calls related to prior authorization requests and provider inquiries. Accurately process and document prior authorization requests within required timeframes. Provide courteous and knowledgeable support to healthcare providers Ensure all communications and data handling are compliant with HIPAA and internal confidentiality protocols. Ensure accurate and timely communication Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently. Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers. Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications and Skills:




High school diploma or GED certificate. State licensing is required with national certification preferred. Successful completion of a pharmacy technician training course or a minimum of two years of on-the-job training. Ability to accurately and effectively enter data into an electronic medical record. Ability to follow oral and written instructions, prioritize duties, and be organized. Ability to effectively interact with patients and other staff from varied backgrounds and personalities and maintain good relationships. Ability to provide excellent customer service under pressure to both patients and other staff. Consistently maintains regular, punctual attendance at the assigned workplace.



Physical requirements:




Prolonged periods standing and sitting working on a computer. Walking to accomplish tasks, particularly when moving between different work areas. Engaging in tasks that primarily involve fine motor skills, such as typing or handling small objects. Reaching with hands and arms in various directions. Bending at the waist to lean forward or downward. Stooping significantly, requiring full use of the lower body and back muscles. Communicating ideas clearly through spoken word, where accurate delivery of detailed or important instructions is essential. Hearing at normal speaking levels, with or without correction, and the ability to receive and process detailed information through verbal communication. Occasionally lifting up to 30 lbs, frequently, lifting10 lbs
