We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Elementary Reading Specialist to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in literacy education, curriculum development, and classroom management, with a passion for fostering student growth in reading and language skills. This role involves working closely with students, teachers, and parents to enhance literacy outcomes and support early childhood development. Responsibilities
Develop and implement effective reading curricula tailored to diverse student needs, including those with special education requirements and autism spectrum disorders.
Provide targeted tutoring and intervention sessions to improve literacy skills among elementary students.
Design engaging lesson plans that incorporate learning technology, standardized testing preparation, and hands-on activities.
Mentor classroom teachers on best practices in literacy instruction, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
Collaborate with educators to integrate reading programs within broader subject areas such as math, science, and social studies.
Support early intervention initiatives and contribute to school-wide literacy initiatives.
Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate progress effectively with parents and staff.
Participate in professional development opportunities related to curriculum development, Montessori methods, library services, or early childhood education.
Requirements
Valid certification as an Elementary Reading Specialist or equivalent credential.
Proven experience working with children in classroom settings, including private school environments or early childhood education programs.
Strong knowledge of literacy education, childhood development, classroom management, and behavior management strategies.
Familiarity with learning technology tools, standardized testing procedures, and curriculum development processes.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
Experience working with children with special needs or autism spectrum disorders is preferred.
Ability to design lesson plans that incorporate writing skills, tutoring techniques, library services, and early intervention strategies.
Demonstrated ability to mentor staff and support inclusive educational practices such as Montessori or other specialized teaching methods.
