Your role with us




The athletic trainer position at Salem Health plays a vital role in promoting health, safety and peak performance for student-athletes. This position ensures athletes can participate in sports confidently and safely, while fostering a culture of injury prevention and wellness within the community. By providing expert care, education and rehabilitation, the athletic trainer strengthens the connection between athletics, academics and overall well-being.


What you'll do




Developing individualized training and rehabilitation programs for athletes. Organizing and maintaining the training room and infection control standards. Evaluating and managing acute and chronic injuries, coordinating care with physicians and physical therapists. Implementing concussion protocols, sports physicals and protective equipment strategies. Maintaining accurate documentation and clear communication with athletes, coaches, families and medical personnel. Advising on return-to-play decisions and serving as a liaison between coaches and administration.

Required qualifications




Bachelor's degree with course work in athletic training, health, physical education or exercise science. Certification by the Board of Certification (BOC) by the National Athletic Trainers' Association. Licensed Athletic Trainer (LAT) by the state of Oregon.

Additional information




Successful candidate will have experience working in a school/college environment as an athletic trainer. Basic Life Support required within 30 days of hire.
