Position: Community Education Communication and Facilities Scheduling Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Community Education
Exempt Status: Non-Exempt

Terms of employment include Temporary Position Jan 5 - Jan 30, 2026
Hourly Wage: $31 per hour West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan District 197
JOB SUMMARY: Support the development, operations and management for all community education programs under the direction of the Director of Community Education. Provide marketing and communications for Community Education Programs. Manage facility reservation scheduling and use of District 197 buildings and grounds for both internal programming and community renters. Oversee staffing related to the rental use of district spaces.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work as a team member with community education staff to support programming as needed.
Support Community Education program expansion and improvement, including grant writing.
Analyze enrollment data in Community education programs to increase program participation.
Develop, edit, update and publish marketing materials and communications using various platforms to promote community education programs, including, but not limited to, websites, surveys, presentations, reports, flyers, brochures, and social media campaigns.
Manage facility scheduling for district programming and community use of facilities.
Hire, schedule, train, manage, and evaluate District 197, facility supervisors.
Develop, monitor, and oversee the appropriate community education budgets.
Work collaboratively and communicate with district departments to ensure efficient use of facilities.
Investigates rental user concerns, problem solves, and communicate solutions to appropriate persons.
Create, analyzes, and present reports and recommendations on community education programs.
Serve as a member of the community education leadership team.
Collaborate with other professionals and participate in professional development to improve practices.
Assist with the supervision of the Two Rivers Aquatic Center use and programs.
Flexibility to adapt work schedule as needed to support community education programs and facility rentals
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Education to accomplish the objectives and goals of the program.
WORK REQUIREMENTS AND CHARACTERISTICS:
Education/Certification/Licensure Requirement:
Four-year college degree
Essential Skills Required to Perform the Work:
Strong public relations skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Strong marketing and promotional skills using social media
Strong editing skills for brochures and catalogs
Proficient in desktop publishing skills, Google Office Suite
Experience with program registration software preferred
Journalism, marketing, or design skills and experience
Excellent organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Proven customer relations skills
Must have the ability and proven record of reporting to work on a regular and punctual basis
Machines, Tools, Equipment, Electronic Devices, and Software Required:
Operate computer, printer, photocopy machine, and other electronic or technological equipment required for the specific position
Proficient in various software systems; Google Drive, Google Office Suite, Google Meet
Proficient in phone system
Physical Job Requirements:
Physically capable of meeting all performance responsibilities required
Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
Repetitive motion keyboarding activities
Ability to travel between buildings, within the buildings, and work area
Mental Job Requirements:
Position includes the need to respond to common inquiries or complaints from community enrichment participants, rental organizations or district staff regarding facility use problems
Position requires the ability to work with interruptions, handle multiple tasks and organize and prioritize work assignments
Position requires conflict resolution skills in dealing with participants, rental groups or colleagues.
Position requires prioritizing work duties, organizing and taking initiative to enhance community education programming and student learning
Innovative and creative skillset.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office setting.
