Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated CDL Driver/Mechanic to join our team. In this dual-role position, you will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles while also performing mechanical maintenance and repairs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of truck operations, including manual transmission and experience with different types of trailers, and be able to demonstrate a safe driving record.

Responsibilities

Operate commercial vehicles including tractor-trailers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks for delivery and transport of freight. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles to ensure they are in safe operating condition. Load and unload cargo efficiently while adhering to safety protocols. Drive routes as assigned, ensuring timely delivery of goods to designated locations. Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs on-site or in the shop as needed. Maintain accurate records of vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repairs performed. Collaborate with team members to ensure optimal performance and safety standards are met.

Skills

Proficient in driving manual transmission vehicles. Confident working in adverse weather conditions. Experience with walking floor trailers, flatbeds,, and other types of commercial vehicles. Strong background in truck driving and commercial driving practices. Familiarity with delivery driver experience and route driving logistics. Ability to operate forklifts for loading and unloading purposes. Knowledge of freight handling procedures and regulations. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose issues related to vehicle performance.
