Job Description

Founded in 1887, Lampert Lumber operates locations in Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota and North Dakota, providing specialty building materials to professional builders and do-it-yourselfers.

Delivers materials to job site, in s pects and ma in ta in s truck, reports shortages and claims to supervisor and assists in load in g and stor in g of materials . Typically a less experienced CDL or tractor trailer driver.

Pay Range: $22.00-25.00/hour

Essential Job Duties:

• Ma in ta in s a current Class A or B Commercial Driver\'s License as required .
• Prepares DOT required log of time on duty and driv in g.
• Organizes and secures load.
• Assists forklift operators when load in g.
• Accounts for all company funds, such as C.O.D.\'s.
• Checks orders for accuracy
• Delivers and unloads materials to customers\' satisfaction.
• Completes daily equipment pre- in s pection.
• Records all merchandise that is returned by truck, assists in unload in g material returned for credit.
• Follows guidel in es established by the Department of Transportation.
• Operates Boom in safe and efficient manner, ma in ta in s records regard in g equipment use and time charged.
• Logs in deliveries on supervisor\'s log sheet.
• Waits on customers while truck is be in g loaded.
• Relays messages sent by customers while on job .
• Assists supervisor, other employees and other work areas, as assigned. Assists in ma in ta in in g good housekeep in g in yard and warehouse.
• Complies with Company\'s attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• M in imum education required - High School Diploma or general equivalency degree (GED).
• M in imum experience required -6 months CDL experience in clud in g lumber dump in g.
• Basic CDL experience with flat beds and/or tractor trailers required .
• Special skills required- Ability to do arithmetic, read orders, write in s tructions, and complete forms.
• Communicate with customers, other employees, and supervisors us in g verbal and written skills and use safe lift in g techniques.
• Clean driv in g record, current CDL operator\'s license, and current DOT qualifications.
• Physical demands in clude stoop in g, bend in g, twist in g, and throw in g . Work in g in a variety of climates and environmental conditions . Ability to lift up 100 lbs or more on a repetitive basis.
