A catering sales manager targets and coordinates catering sales efforts. The primary responsibility of a catering sales and operations manager is to develop existing business and solicit new catering business through catering lead generation and catering sales marketing along with overseeing the catering department.
Solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business through efforts (outside sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, networking, etc.) while maximizing banquet space and offsite catering to meet/exceed revenue goals.
Complete the contracts, prepare the appropriate paperwork, including banquet event orders, coordinate with the appropriate areas in the restaurant and resolve any issues, complaints and problems to ensure a quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.
Plan, upsell and detail the meeting/function with the client including menus, space requirements, times, equipment, menus, themes/decorations, etc.
Conduct tastings for potential/contracted clients.
Prepare status and period end reports for owners.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of catering and restaurant procedures, products and competition, including their strengths and weaknesses, to continually improve sales strategies and achieve goals.
Professional and positive communication to both guests and fellow associates.
Oversee entire department to ensure success of the catering functions/meetings
Recruit and hire employees.
Training new employees, ensure all employees are performing to the standards of the company.
Weekly scheduling of staff
Procure deposits and payment for events from clients.
Coordinate with owners to achieve financial goals.
Responsible of getting meeting/banquet rooms set for upcoming events.
Oversee event/meeting runs smoothly as well as clean up.
Order linens/napkins weekly for upcoming events.
Create new ideas to bring business in.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
