Job Description



This position oversees all Catering Functions to include, coffee breaks, offsite catering, backstage catering, buffet, plated and reception events; Any and all functions serving any food & beverage items
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Participate in hiring and training of all Servers.
  • Maintain labor costs to budgeted goals.
  • Attend in-house event-related meetings and relays changes immediately with other departments.
  • Maintain all equipment, cleanliness, regular inventories and annual maintenance.
  • Must be creative in designing buffets and event d\xc3\xa9cor.
  • Attention to detail and consistency in every aspect of service is a must.
  • Position is very hands on with excessive interaction with clients during events.
  • Order linen and maintaining uniforms.
  • Coordinate event with all catering staff.
  • Ensure that Catering Standards are met with every event.
  • Schedule staff by following scheduling standards.
  • Fulfill the service per each Banquet Event Orders (BEO).
  • Have the ability to take direction from supervisor and effectively organize and supervise all catering staff.
  • Provide the highest customer service excellence.
  • Ensure compliance with all Savor F&B policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional work ethic.
  • Enforce all sanitation procedures including safety guidelines and OSHA requirements.
  • Organize equipment for an event as well as clean and maintain equipment during and after functions.
  • Make sure all storerooms are clean, organized and secured.
  • Follows all rules and regulations which apply to the food and beverage operations and to ASM GLOBALFood and Beverage Division.
  • Maintain a cooperative, team-like attitude in working with supervisors and fellow employees (including other departments).
  • This position requires the ability to work flexible, sometimes long hours which include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsible for interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources department; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in related field or equivalent of four (4) years of management experience in a banquet facility, servicing meals for large events, or combination of experience and education.
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in food and beverage service.
  • Previous responsibilities of inventory, cost control, ordering, receiving, & stocking of supplies and products.
  • Experience with Micros preferred.
  • Must be of legal age limit with respect to serving alcoholic beverages.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must have current Oklahoma Liquor License
  • Food handler certificate required from Health Department.

  • A strong communicator: be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format to management and staff as well as to all types of clients.
  • Organized, able to prioritize, and have strong time management skills.
  • Fast paced and able to multi-task with a strong recall memory in order to achieve and maintain high levels of guest activity.
  • Positive and able to motivate all staff to offer hospitality service which exceeds guests expectations.
  • Experience in menu planning, event planning or conference planning.
  • Able to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Required to speak and understand basic English well enough to converse with customers, supervisors, and employees.
  • Strong orientation to customer service and ability to work with other staff members in the facility.
  • Results oriented individual with the ability to meet required budgetary goals.
  • Ability to be creative with buffet presentations and maintain a quality product.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, personable, positive and hard working.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, employees, exhibitors, patron and others encountered in the course of employment.
  • Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
  • Be licensed and insured to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur.


Computer Skills
  • Operate a personal computer using Windows, Office and other standard office equipment.
  • Must have strong computer skills, Excel and Word.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to move around the facility; to stand for long hours during events; talk and hear. This position may require work inside or outside of the building, as needed for events.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting and other activities necessary to perform job duties. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • This position requires minimal stooping and lifting, but substantial walking. Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions.
