This is a paid internship that is part of Heaven Hill's Summer Internship Program (running May-August). The role is based at our Bardstown Bottling Facility.
As part of the Heaven Hill Summer Internship Program, you will support organizational strategic goals through hands-on project work and high-impact assignments. Our program is designed to provide meaningful experience, professional development, cross-functional exposure, networking opportunities, facility tours, and intern engagement events throughout the summer.
What the Role Is
The Category Supply Chain Internship offers an opportunity to learn how strategic sourcing decisions are made across packaging, raw materials, and ingredient categories. You will work closely with Category Managers to assist in cost analysis, supplier research, project coordination, and documentation that supports organizational sourcing strategies.
This internship provides exposure to procurement analytics, supplier performance, sourcing processes, and cross-functional collaboration with operations, quality, finance, and R&D.
How You Will Spend Your Time?
Category Management Support
+ Assist Category Managers with projects related to sourcing strategy development, market research, risk assessments, and supplier capability analysis.
+ Help compile category profiles, spending data, and supplier performance information.
+ Support documentation updates, contract organization, and category dashboards. Sourcing & Cost Analysis
+ Participate in RFx activities (RFI, RFQ, RFP) by helping collect data, review bids, and analyze cost differences.
+ Learn how to evaluate total cost of ownership and compare pricing structures, freight considerations, and lead-time impacts.
+ Assist with tracking cost savings and value creation against category goals. Supplier Relations & Performance Tracking
+ Help prepare materials for quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with key suppliers.
+ Assist in gathering KPI data, scorecard updates, and documenting service level or quality performance.
+ Participate in cross-functional discussions to better understand supplier requirements from quality, operations, and R&D. Innovation & Cross-Functional Collaboration
+ Support category managers in aligning supplier capabilities with innovation and new product development initiatives.
+ Assist with early-stage packaging or materials evaluations and document insights for cross-functional teams.
+ Help coordinate between category management and functions such as R&D, packaging engineering, and brand teams. Technology, Reporting & Process Improvement
+ Use procurement tools, Excel, and analytics platforms to help evaluate supplier data or category trends.
+ Maintain accurate category documentation and support updates to sourcing process tools.
+ Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at standardizing procurement practices and improving efficiency. Professional Development
+ Prepare and present findings and recommendations to internal teams throughout the internship.
+ Deliver a final presentation to the Executive Leadership Team summarizing your project work and key learnings.
+ Participate in developmental workshops, networking opportunities, and cross-functional exposure events.
Who You Are...
Required Skills and Experience:
Currently a junior or senior pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Procurement, Finance, ora related field.
Strong analytical skills with interest in procurement, cost analysis, and supplier management.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with data.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with clear direction.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities, especially in cross-functional environments.
Curious, proactive, and interested in learning how sourcing decisions impact the broader supply chain.

Stand; extensive walking; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, and use of computer; reach with hands and arms.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
