GDIT is seeking a Category Manager to be responsible for developing innovative strategies for indirect and direct spend categories specifically in the Cloud, AI, Cyber, Software/SaaS commodity area. You will report to the Senior Manager of Category Management and partner with GDIT\xe2\x80\x99s Strategic Sourcing teams to ensure procurement strategies are fully understood, executed as designed, and adjusted as additional market knowledge is gained through sourcing activities and monitoring supplier performance. The primary role in this position is to review GDIT\xe2\x80\x99s current supplier relationships and spend to create strategies that will result in cost savings, avoidance, process improvement, or time reduction for our stakeholders. Category strategies focus on maximizing the value obtained from each supply market balancing competing demands including state and federal regulatory requirements imposed upon GDIT by its customers, such as the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR); the market strength of GDIT; and the realities of supply markets. This position requires an understanding of software/cloud licensing models and management. The selected candidate should feel comfortable researching and reading contracts to gain an in-depth understanding GDIT\xe2\x80\x99s relationship and licensing model with suppliers such as Microsoft, Oracle, Adobe, IBM, Splunk, VMWare, UiPath, etc., The candidate must have strong research and analytic skills; high interest in continued learnings; being well organized, proactive, and able to work without much guidance; along with exceptional time management skills. This position will be responsible for developing innovative strategies for indirect and direct Software spend categories. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Conduct detailed supply market research including emerging technologies or suppliers of interest within these commodity categories.
• Establish and leverage relationships with key strategic suppliers in the software, cloud, AI, and cyber commodity space.
• Work closely with internal departments and customer-facing programs to understand, document, and analyze current and forecasted technology demands.
• Develop strategies based on cloud engineering, operations, and both GDIT\xe2\x80\x99s, as well as our client\xe2\x80\x99s transition to the cloud-based services for gaining the best value from current and future supply markets.
• Regularly evaluate the cloud, AI and cyber categories and adjust strategies as appropriate based on changing market conditions, internal demand, supplier performance, and other factors
• Ensure Category Strategies balance the various regulatory requirements imposed upon GDIT Supply Chain by its customers, including the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR); the market strength of GDIT; and the realities in the various markets to maximize value obtained from each supplier.
• Solve process, supplier performance and market-disruption problems including developing solutions under tight timeframes.

Qualifications in order to be considered:

• Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree and 8+ years of corporate commercial and FAR regulated supply chain experience
• Experienced in conducting market research and analyzing supply markets
• Strong experience with business analysis and requirements gathering techniques
• Ability to work closely across all levels of GDIT to fully understand the specific needs of Supply Chain\xe2\x80\x99s internal customers
• Ability to analyze, interpret and evaluate technology applications to solve business needs
