The Category Analyst is responsible for interpreting multiple data points to assist in creating category centric selling stories and driving profitable business solutions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Monitor and analyze competitive activity, customer, and market trends and provide actionable insights to guide continuous improvement Build sales presentation using syndicated, panel, basket, shopper and other sources of data that provide solutions and recommendations to address business issues. Visit store sets to see where improvements can be made in category management Develop planograms and organize products based on sales strategies Identify opportunities for process improvement and standardization related to sales Lead the planning and execution of assigned department projects Review sales activities for compliance with internal policy and regulatory standards Collaborate with other functional areas such as IT, Portfolio and Marketing to support the strategic vision of the organization through chain sales initiatives Creation of analytic driven material for MBO and NPI activations Main contact for data consultation to keep sales staff up to date on data trends and opportunities Additional duties and responsibilities to be determined

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent education and experience) in Business Administration or related field 18 years of age or older Three or more years' analyst experience required Two years beverage sales experience preferred Proficient in Circana (IRI), Nielsen, 84.51, Market 6, Stratum and retailer-specific POS/ Panel software Strong analytical skills and numeric ability Basic understanding of SQL preferred Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook Understanding of maintence of ERP systems/software database Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize, set goals and accomplish responsibilities with limited supervision Must possess good communication and customer service skills, confidentiality and professionalism Experience developing and managing projects Ability to problem solve and make decisions quickly and efficiently while remaining calm and professional Self-starter, highly motivated with a high productivity level Critical-thinking skills to develop, adjust and recommend changes
