Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable CAT Girtz Shuttle Driver (Double Drop) to operate specialized heavy-duty commercial vehicles, including double drop trailers, within our logistics and transportation network.

Hiring Area

50-mile radius of either Lafayette, IN or Monticello, IN

Lanes

Round trip begins at LSTL in Lafayette IN (live loading), goes to Girtz in Monticello IN (drop), hooks to a completed unit in Monticello, returns to LSTL in Lafayette IN, reloads, and returns to Monticello

Miles

50-mile round trip; 2-3 round trips per day expected

Schedule

Monday-Friday 12:30 PM-8:30 PM Some Saturday work as needed Hours may vary

Home Time

Home every weekend; may be home some nights depending on home location

Bonus

New Hire Transition Bonus:

$500 -- paid in full on second paycheck

Requirements

1 year experience with 6 months verified flatbed in last 3 years 6 months securement training including chains and binders Must be available to work some Saturdays NO SAP

Responsibilities

Safely operate double drop trailers and other heavy-duty commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, or box trucks for shuttle routes and deliveries Load and unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts when necessary Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with DOT regulations Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo documentation, and delivery records Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse personnel to coordinate pickups and deliveries Adhere to all safety protocols and traffic laws during operations Assist with moving heavy equipment or freight as required within the facility or job site Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles to ensure optimal performance
This position requires a dedicated professional capable of operating complex vehicles safely while maintaining high standards of service. Candidates must demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety standards essential for successful shuttle operations.

Pay: $26.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
