Job Description

Responsibilities/:

We are seeking a casual rehab services aide to join our inpatient acute care therapy team at M Health Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville!

The rehab aide will assist with all disciplines within rehabilitation services and may include setting up and assisting with direct patient care, patient transport (and monitoring patients during these activities), and clerical tasks. The rehab aide is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and inventorying of equipment and durable medical equipment for patient use and communicating with vendors regarding equipment inventories. The aide will maintain and clean all department treatment areas and manage patient medical record and patient care chart flow. In addition, the aide will assist with orientation of new staff, and orientation and training of volunteers.

With appropriate training, this position may assist with patient care as delegated, and under the supervision of a Certified/Licensed Rehab Professional, including set-up of treatment equipment, monitoring patient activities, scoring of tests. Immediately reports any observed change in patient status to supervising Certified/Licensed Rehab Professional.FTE: 0.01, casual position. Schedule: One weekend (Saturday/Sunday) per month (8-hour shifts), and one holiday per year. Option for two weekends per month if preferred. Opportunity to pick up additional weekday and weekend shifts, as available and as desired. Fairview Rehabilitation offers a range of services that serve patients across 10 acute-care hospitals, 3 post-acute settings and 70 outpatient adult and pediatric therapy clinics. Responsibilities

Provides patient transfers and transport Follows proper procedure when completing/assisting with patient transfers to ensure safety of patient and self Transports assigned patients in a safe and timely manner Observes patient condition during transport and reports adverse symptoms to therapy or nursing staff. With appropriate training may assist with patient care as delegated and under the supervision of a Certified/Licensed Rehab Professional Including set-up of treatment equipment, monitoring patient activities, scoring of tests. Immediately reports any observed change in patient status to supervising Certified/Licensed Rehab Professional. May need to utilize Epic to check for patient weight/height and weight-bearing status. Demonstrates proficient use of department communication equipment including business software applications. Completes patient scheduling as assigned and communicates changes to staff and patients. Utilizes fax, copier, phone, scheduling and any other applicable site systems Communicates with appropriate staff regarding scheduling Prepares, maintains and cleans department/treatment areas in compliance with safely and infection control standards Completes cleaning per schedule Completes maintenance, temperature and safety checklist Completes required checklists Assists with ordering, inventorying, issuing and verification of billing of supplies and/or patient treatment equipment, including rental equipment. Knowledge of varying requirements for payor reimbursement of issued medical equipment. Assists with clerical/front desk staff duties as necessary. Answers incoming phone calls Files medical paperwork as requested. Able to fill-in for front desk/reception Meets Customer Service Expectations for Department Addresses patients/visitors in a professional and positive manner. Answers phones promptly and courteously. Protects confidentiality of protected patient information while working in a highly visible environment. Demonstrates the ability to perform multiple, simultaneous tasks in an environment faced with interruptions. Manages medical record flow and patient care charts. Prepares medical records with applicable forms and responsible for collapse of discharged charts. Maintains confidentiality of all information by sharing information only with those who need to know. Supervises and directs volunteers and assists with orienting new staff (equipment, aide functions). Demonstrates awareness of and compliance with department productivity standards, attendance, time management and prioritization. Participates in department, facility process/quality improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Basic Life Support (American Heart Association or Red Cross)

Preferred Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent Interest in Rehab Services or Healthcare fields Previous office or healthcare facility work experience

Qualifications:

$20.42- $28.82 Hourly
