Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with the development and management of Hawaii CC web sites.
Perform programming related to data extraction from various system and college databases.
Write routines/scripts based upon conceptual designs and specifications.
Recognize a wide range of intricate problems using reasoning and logic to determine accurate causes.
Apply principles and practices to determine, evaluate, integrate, and implement practical solutions in an effective and timely manner.
Respond to any web-related queries and concerns from students, faculty, staff, other institutions and community members.
Extract secondary data to generate reports requested from administration, faculty and staff.
Ensure content and code are publication ready, establishing methods for updating information, checking for broken links, removing outdated information, non-compliance with guidelines (including ADA).
Represent Hawaii Community College on University of Hawaii (UH) system, UHH Community College (UHCC) system and other Community committees as assigned.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Possession of a baccalaureate degree and 0 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience or equivalent education/training or experience.
Working knowledge of web design using databases and content management systems as demonstrated by the broad knowledge and understanding of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving information technology concepts, principles and methodology.
Functional knowledge of the creation, management and maintenance of databases demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply principles, concepts, methodology and terminology.
Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems.
Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
Demonstrated ability to produce work requiring meticulous attention to detail and precision proofreading.
Working knowledge of the following program languages: PHP, MySQL, Velocity, HTML, XML, and Javascript.
Any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
Desirable Qualifications
Knowledge of Visual Basic Scripting, PHP/SQL programming language.
Administration of content management systems WordPress, Drupal, and Cascade.
