Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented Cashier/Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while efficiently handling transactions and assisting with various sales activities. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a friendly demeanor, and a passion for retail sales. Experience in a grocery store environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and resolving any issues that may arise. Assist in merchandising products to enhance the shopping experience and promote sales effectively. Conduct product demonstrations to educate customers about features and benefits. Engage in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and store displays. Stock shelves and ensure products are properly labeled and displayed. Handle cash transactions with accuracy, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and maintain a positive work environment.

Experience

Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred. Familiarity with basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations. Supervising experience is a plus for those interested in potential leadership roles. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply as it enhances communication with diverse customers. Strong phone etiquette is essential for handling customer inquiries effectively. A background in merchandising or product stocking will be beneficial in this role. Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
